How Capacity Is Calculated
Capacity is the total hours your active workforce can deliver over the date range shown in the chart.
RIVET calculates it from four values:
- Active workers filtered into the chart
- Worker Hours Per Year, the value you set (default 2,000)
- 52 weeks per year
- Weeks shown in the chart
The formula is: Active Workers × Worker Hours Per Year ÷ 52 × weeks in chart.
Definitions
- Capacity: Total available hours and the Active Worker count behind it
- Forecasted Hours: Won job hours and Prospective job hours, plus a combined total shown as a percentage of capacity.
- Scheduled Hours: Scheduled hours and requested hours, plus a combined total shown as a percentage of capacity.
Tips
- Forecasted above 100% of capacity: demand exceeds your workforce. Plan to hire, loan in, or engage temps.
- Forecasted below 100% of capacity: you have open capacity. Pursue prospective jobs to fill it.
